Humphrey Yao, PhD, Principal Investigator NIEHS/NIH Reproductive Developmental Biology Lab and a member of the Campion Fund Scientific Advisory Board, is the 2019 SSR Research Award recipient. He received his PhD from the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign in 1999 and completed his postdoctoral work with Blanche Capel at Duke University in 2002. After a faculty appointment at the University of Illinois- Urbana-Champaign he joined the Nation Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in 2010. The holder of many research awards he has held positions of Associate Editor of Biology of Reproduction, and faculty member of FIR (Frontiers in Reproduction) and was the elected co-chair of the 2018 Gordon Conference, Mammalian Reproduction. In August 2016 he became an active member of the Campion Fund Scientific Advisory Board. As a member of the Board he organized the meeting on Advances in Andrology, was an advisor for the workshop and video series on Gender and Sex Variations and devised a survey of past Campion Fund junior investigator awardees which demonstrated their ongoing career trajectories in reproductive science.
